Name wasn’t that important for animals probably…they can’t eat it! But the fact that Adam was the one giving the name to the animals shows that he has the authority given by The Lord :)

Well, imagine calling thing as thing because that thing is called thing when that thing doesn’t have any thing to be called as. It’s hard to call everything! But that’s why God sent Adam to give name to the animals, and it also serves as a symbol that Adam has the authority over animals. :)
